Southwest Grill!

Sophia says: Today for lunch my mom, me and my brother went to Southwest Grill! It is a Mexican restaurant.  When we got there, we ordered at the counter. We were the only ones there. I ordered a chicken tostado and pineapple fruit juice.  The waiter brought everything to our table but we had to get forks and knives at the counter. I have never had a tostado before and I liked it. It was a tortilla with lettuce, chicken, beans, cheese and tomatoes. The bathroom is different because when you open the door it leads into a different store and it was a little hard to find. The restaurant was very cute and the tables were nice and clean. I would come back.

Josh says:  Today we went to Southwest Grill for lunch.  I've never been there before. My sister and I had a chicken tostada and pineapple juice. I didn't like the tomato and the salad. I liked the chicken and the beans and the cheese and the tortilla. And the waiter brought us chips and I liked those. We were the only ones there so we got to pick a table to sit at. The inside of the restaurant was really colorful.  I would love to come back.

Jodie says:  We have driven by the Southwest Grill many times. Today we went there for lunch and the owner said they have been open for 5 years. They are only open for lunch and closed on the weekends. I wasn't sure what to order and the owner recommended the pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious!  It is a casual and nicely decorated restaurant. We came a little late and we were served very quickly.  It was a nice lunch and I would definitely come back.

Armadillo Willy's BBQ!

Sophia says Hi Readers, sorry it's been so long since our last review, we have been really busy! Tonight we went to Armadillo Willy's BBQ for dinner! It is a hamburger, ribs and steak type of restaurant. The restaurant had a parking lot but only for only for people who were eating there. When you get there, you order at the counter and you can get a soft drink there too. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries off the kid's menu and a raspberry lemonade.  When you order, the waiter gives you a device that buzzes when your order is ready.  Then you go to a different counter to pick it up. My food tasted good, the cheeseburger was cheesy and the fries were filling. The people that work there are very nice. I would come back soon.

Josh says: Tonight I went to dinner at Armadillo Willys. I had a cheeseburger and french fries and ketchup. I also had lemonade. The restaurant had good service. It was crowded but we found a place to sit down. And I got a to go box for my dad but not for me because I finished my dinner.

Paul says: I have always wanted to come here and finally did.  I had the ribs with potato salad and fries. The ribs were great, tender and juicy and very good. The restaurant was nice and the food came lightning fast. You order in the front and pick up your food in the back where the tables are. I would love to come back.

Jodie says: We have been hearing about this place for years. When we got there, there was a large crowd of people waiting in line to order but the line moved quickly. I think a lot of people were getting take out. We got one of the last tables and waited for our food to be ready. I had a small ceaser salad and shared some of  Paul's dinner.  There were a lot of kids there and all of the staff seemed really nice and efficient. I would definitely come back.

Sushi Tomi!

Sophia says: Tonight we went to Sushi Tomi because it is my mom's birthday! It is a Japanese restaurant. When we got there it was crowded. They only had a few tables open. I ordered the terryaki bento box that came with miso soup and a small ice cream. It was all very good. If you are vegetarian you can eat here. The service was nice and quick. I would come back.

Josh says: I went to Sushi Tomi and it is a Japanese restaurant.  And we went there because it ismy mom's birthday. I ordered chicken terryaki and I had a strawberry milkshake. A lot of people were there. We sat in a nice clean spot. The food that I ordered looked really tasty. And for dessert they gave me orange sherbet ice cream. I would definitely come back.

Paul says: The food was great and very fresh. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and ebi roll and I shared a spider roll. The service was very fast. We didn't have reservations and there were people waiting outside.  Sushi Tomi is busy even on a Sunday night. I would absolutely go back.

Jodie says: This was a fantastic birthday dinner. Sushi Tomi is a small restaurant in Mountain View and there is usually a wait to get in. We came at 5:30 (1/2 hour after it opened) and it was almost filled. The tables are extremely close together and it was very busy.  I had a spider roll and it was delicious!  Their food is very fresh and the service was very fast. When we left, there was a crowd of people waiting to get in. I would love to go back.

Terrace Cafe!

Sophia says: Hi Readers! Today for lunch we went to the Terrace Cafe. It is located in the San Francisco Zoo. My brother and I split a cheeseburger and french fries and my mom and dad shared chicken strips and we all shared potato chips. We had already brought a lot of snacks to eat. I thought the potato chips were too hard and crunchy and they did not taste very good. The rest of our food was good. They didn't really have service because we picked up the food ourselves and we waited at the counter to get it. I would come back to the zoo but if I came back to the cafe, I would not get the potato chips again. If you have never been to the San Francisco Zoo, we took a lot of pictures and here are some of them. We had a great day and I hope you like the pictures!

Josh says: Today we went to the zoo! I saw all of the animals except the lion. We couldn't find him and we think he was asleep. I wanted to see the lion but I couldn't. And there were wild bears and one of them swam in the water and came out of the water close to me. For lunch I had cafe food. It was good. The potato chips were crunchy and the fries were good. I also had a cheeseburger and I liked it. I would of course come back to the zoo. The only thing is it's far away from my house. The last time I went I was 2 years old and I don't remember anything but this time I will remember everything.

Paul says: The chips were greasy although the cheeseburger was big and the rest of the food was good. The zoo has been recently remodeled and its really nice. Would love to come back soon.

Jodie says: We got lucky because it was a beautiful day in San Francisco. The weather was perfect and the zoo was not very crowded at all. The area is so large and spread out and it was amazing to see all the different animals. The Terrace Cafe was fine, the food was cooked to order but there were no healthy choices on the menu.  There were a few other families there and everyone was enjoying themselves.  It was a perfect way to spend the day and I would love to go back to the zoo.

Le Boulanger!

Sophia says:  Today for lunch we went to Le Boulanger. It is a bakery/sandwich cafe. It was a special treat, because my Auntie Jill is leaving for Australia tonight. I went with my cousin Kaelyn, mom, brother, and of course, my aunt! When we got there, we ordered at the counter. Then we sat down at a table. The tables were kind of small. They were only really fit for three people. When you order, they give you a pager that buzzes when your order is ready. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwhich and a chocolate chip cookie with milk. The pager buzzed and my mom and cousin went to get the food. My food tasted good and my grilled cheese was very gooey and cheesy! My cookie had very small chocolate chips. The buzzer service was pretty quick. I would love to come back.

Josh says: Today we went to Le Boulanger. I ordered a grilled cheese sandwhich and it was so cheesy! And my Auntie and cousin were there. I had a big cookie and I gave everyone a bite! The restaurant was good. I would totally come back.

Kaelyn said: It was good. I had the bay shrimp melt,  and it was excellent, filling without being heavy. The clam chowder was good, nothing amazing but it was good.  I used to come here all the time and would love to come back again.

Auntie Jill said: The food was excellent, the portions were great and I loved the shrimp sandwhich. The clam chowder was excellent as well. I always enjoy Le Boulanger.

Jodie said: I really liked Le Boulanger. The gentleman at the counter who took our order was very nice and welcoming. We all ordered the bay shrimp sandwich which was delicious! It is a shrimp salad mixed with a lemon and mayonnaise dressing on a toasted sourdough roll. It tasted really fresh and was just the right amount of food. The service is 'do it yourself', because you order at the counter and when you are done, you return your plates and tray.  I would love to come back and try something from their bakery next time.

The Workshop Bar & Grill!

Sophia says: Happy Fathers Day Readers! Tonight we took my dad to the Workshop Burger restaurant.  It just opened about a month ago. When we got there, we decided to sit outside. A waitress brought us water. When we ordered, we asked for a milkshake but the waiter said that they didn't have the milkshake machine yet. That was weird because they have been open for a month. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and lemonade that I split with my brother. After a few minutes it started to get a little chilly so we sat inside. On the condiment tray there was ketchup, mustard, salt & pepper and spicy sauce. The sauce was 1/2 filled and with no cap. It looked gross but all the other tables had caps on their bottles. It took a while for our food to come. When it came, I liked it and the meat was very well cooked. The food was also very filling. I would maybe come back but not for a long time.

Josh says: Tonight we went to a burger restaurant. We took my dad there. I ordered a cheeseburger, french fries and lemonade. It took forever to get our food. Then finally we got it. It tasted good. There was mayo on the hamburger that I did not like.

Paul says: I had the mushroom burger with sweet potato fries - it was good, but overpriced. The menus were dirty, mine had ketchup stains. Our waiter was nice but was very young and  not able to "connect" with a family of four, trying to have a nice casual dinner out.  He was very inexperienced and established no reason whatsoever to make me want to come back to pay $10 for a hamburger ever again. I mean really, my burger should have sang me a song for that price.

Jodie says: I was so disappointed in the food, service and the whole experience. When we got there, a waitress led us to a table and told us she would be taking a break.  We waited awhile for our new waiter to come. My menu had white out and different hand written items then everyone elses. I ordered a cheeseburger medium rare. I could tell it was overcooked and when the bill came, our waiter had written "well done".  We waited a really long time for our food and they did not have many customers. The bun on the burger was filling but I think thats because it was sauteed in butter. The kids really liked their lemonade and I liked the sweet potato fries but that was about it.  I would not come back.
