Crepevine!

Sophia says: Today for lunch/dessert we went to Crepevine! It opened a few weeks ago and has been very crowded. This restaurant also used to be Nicoles, which we reviewed last year.  (please click on the link to see! http://ladybugrestaurantreviews.blogspot.com/2011/11/nicholes.html )
When we got there, we waited in a long line before we could give our order. There was waitstaff bustling around, the chefs cooking fast and everyone was talking. When we finally got to the front of the line, we ordered the Santorini crepe and the Midnight Blues for all of us to share. Then the cashier gave us a number and we sat down. It took a little longer for them to bring us our food but when they did, it looked really good. It tasted DELICIOUS! The Santorini was sweet and also came with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. I would come back but not at such a busy time.

Josh says: Today we went to Crepevine. We waited to get our food for a long time. Then when we finally got our food we came to a table and started eating. I had the Santorni crepe and it was good.  And they gave ice cream with whipped cream. I also had some lemonade. The restaurant was too loud but I would love to come back anyway.

Paul says: Crazy busy place. Worth the wait, crepe wise. Reasonable price for downtown.  Great selection of drinks, and the other dishes looked great. I wouldn't want to come back when it is that crazy busy but would come back again when it slows down.

Jodie says: This is a special review because we started this blog when Sophia was only 8 years old and she just turned 10!  Crepevine took over after Nicoles closed down this year. It's a great location in downtown Mountain View. We have been wanting to try it and they have looked very busy.  We stopped by this afternoon and the line was almost out of the door. We waited about 15 minutes to order and then it took another 15 or so minutes to receive our crepes. When the food is up on the counter the servers have to walk around the whole restaurant, inside and outside to look for the correct number on the table.  Paul and I shared the Midnight Blues and it was really good, and very sweet. I would love to try one of their salads next time.

Sweet Tomatoes!

Sophia says: Hey Readers! Tonight we went to Sweet Tomatoes for dinner! We had gotten a coupon in the mail and we finally went to see what it was like. When we got there, we each got a tray and a plate and we moved through the salad bar line. You may think the salad bar is small from the photo but it's actually pretty huge and takes up half of the restaurant. The salad bar has a few base salads, then tons of toppings like croutons, veggies, beets, carrots and so much more! After you are done you pay for your dinner at the end of the line and then you pick a table. After that, it's like an all you can eat buffet. There are different kinds of soups, muffins, biscuits, drinks and a big dessert bar. I got the chicken noodle soup and a blueberry muffin. The food was AMAZING!!!! I also got a pumpkin muffin fresh from the baker who took it out of the oven.  It was delicious! For dessert I had ice cream with sprinkles and butterscotch syrup. That was great also. The only bad thing was while we were eating dinner we heard a screaming baby.  He cried for almost an hour. That's because Sweet Tomatoes is very family friendly. I would come back.

Josh says: Tonight we went to Sweet Tomatoes. When we got there, we got a tray and got to pick our own food. I did not pick the salad but I picked cheese, corn, beets, and carrots. After we sat down, I started to eat and then I got some macaroni and cheese. It was good! And I also had some chicken soup and that was good too. For dessert I had chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup and halloween sprinkles. I liked it so much I wanted to have thirds! At one table, we heard a screaming baby. But I also saw a baby that was nice and calm and cute at another table. And I have never seen a baby that quiet before and I have never heard a baby scream so much. And then we left. I would love to come back!

Jodie says: Aside from the screaming baby, we had a fun time! The kids loved serving themselves and were careful to eat what they had before getting something else. We got there at 5:30 and there were already a few people but when we left an hour later it was packed.  Even though it is self serve, there was plenty of staff clearing the tables. I had spinach salad and chicken pot pie soup which was tasty.  It got pretty loud towards the end but everyone seemed to be having a great time.  Highly recommened for a fun and casual dinner out.

Niji Sushi!

Sophia says: Hi Readers! Tonight we went to Ninja Sushi which used to be Cafe Yulong! http://ladybugrestaurantreviews.blogspot.com/2012/04/cafe-yulong.html  We reviewed Cafe Yulong and it was the last night they were open. Now it is Ninja Sushi. When we got there, we were the first ones and the waitress immediately led us to a table. She was very friendly and she brought an order of complimentary edamame. I split the salmon teriyaki with my brother because it was huge. Our food came quickly and I enjoyed it. The salmon was cooked well and had a delicious sauce. It also came with miso soup and salad and rice. Our waitress was really nice and checked us on a lot. We got special treatment but I"m pretty sure it was because we were the only ones there for a while. I think a lot of people stayed home to watch the world series. For dessert we ordered green tea and mango mochi ice cream. I thought it was very good. I would come back because we had great food and service.

Josh says: Hi Readers! Tonight we went to Niji Sushi for dinner. When we got there, the nice waitress came immediately and brought us to a table. They had a fish tank. I ordered the salmon terryaki that I shared with my sister. When it came, we started to eat and I asked for a fork because the chopsticks were too hard to use. We also got rice and salad and miso soup. I actually didn't eat the salad but my mom did and she thought it was delicious. Then I had dessert and it was ice cream and it was yummy. I would definitely come back because it is a good restaurant.

Paul says: The Caterpillar roll was amazing!  The spicy tuna roll was amazing! The service was excellent, complimentary edamame was very nice and the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back.

Jodie says: I really liked Niji Sushi!  We were seated right away and our waitress was wonderful. More people started to come in and it looked like everyone had excellent service.  Paul and I shared the caterpillar roll and the dynamite roll and they were really good and very fresh.  We had a wonderful evening out and I would recommend Niji Sushi to anyone.

Chili's!

Sophia says: Hi Readers! Today we went to Chili's with our friends Kiana, Matthew and Zenaida! It has American food. When we got there, we waited a couple of minutes and a hostess came and showed us to our table. We had a very cute and clean table in a big room in the back. I ordered a cheeseburger with cinnamon apples and chocolate milk from the kid's menu. The restaurant is very kid friendly. It took a little bit of time but they were very busy. I thought the waiter was really nice and my food was really good but the cheeseburger was kind of small. I ate the whole thing. We also had delicious chocolate cake and ice cream. The restroom was really clean and had music playing. I would definitely come back.

Kiana says: I really like this place so I come here often with my family. Tonight, the service was really good. I ordered chicken fajitas and shared with my mom. The appetizers are really good and we had chips and salsa that we shared with everybody. I thought my dinner was very well made and I ate everything. For dessert we had molten chocolate cake I thought it was very good and I would recommend it. Chili's is my all time favorite restaurant!

Matthew says:  I ordered steak and garlic bread, pineapple and french fries. I liked the steak the best. We got dessert and we ate it really fast. I would like to come back to Chili's.

Josh says: Tonight we went to Chili's with my friends. When I came in the hostess came a little late to bring us to our table. Our waiter was nice. I ordered a cheeseburger with oranges and a chocolate milk. When I got it, it was really good. Then we got dessert and it was a chocolate cake with some vanilla ice cream on it and it was so good! I shared it with everybody and I wished there was more after I was done. I would love to come back.

Zenaida says: We come here as a family all of the time and its the kid's favorite restaurant. We are really excited to be able to go with Josh, Jodie and Sophia. The kids were really well behaved and the restaurant is noisy enough for a lot of kids. The service was great and our waiter was super friendly.  I  really enjoyed our fajitas because Kiana has to order them every single time. Hopefully we can have another special guest appearance on Ladybug Restaurant Reviews!

Jodie says:  I really liked Chili's and was impressed with the service.  They have a large menu selection and I ordered the buffalo chicken salad. It was huge but it didn't taste very good. Our waiter Trey noticed that I didn't eat very much and I told him I didn't like it and he was very accommodating and did not charge me for it.  I really appreciated the great customer service and would love to come back and try something else.  We were there for a long time and had a great evening out.

Tommy Thai!

Sophia says: Today for lunch we went to Tommy Thai! It is a Thai restaurant. When we got there, some people were eating and the waitresses ( we didn't see any waiters ) were serving people. A waitress came to us and lead us to a booth. The restaurant was small, but really cute and nicely decorated. I shared with my mom and brother Pad See-Ew and the pineapple fried rice. They are both deeeliiiicious! You can come here if you are vegetarian. Tommy Thai has vegetarian appetizers, salads, noodles, curries, soups, specialties, and fried rices. They also have desserts. This restaurant is open all week from 11:00-10:00pm. I would definitely come back.

Josh says: Hi Readers, today we to Tommy Thai for lunch.  When we walked in, the waitress came and got us a seat. It was a nice booth by the window. I ordered pineapple fried rice and pad thai. First our waitress bought us each a salad and some kind of spicy soup. I did not like the soup but my mom really liked it. The salad I kind of liked. It had a green spicy dressing. I ate a lot of it. The pineapple fried rice had chicken and it tasted like regular rice. It was yummy. I loved the pad thai the best because it had flat noodles and broccoli and I like broccoli a lot.  When we were leaving the waitress said I was a nice boy. That made my mom very happy. I would come back because it is a nice place.

Jodie says: I really liked Tommy Thai. It looks very unassuming from the outside and the inside is small but really cute!  We shared the lunch specials and they came with a small soup and salad for each of us.  There was a lot of food.  The service was fast and effecient and our food tasted really good and very fresh. I would love to come back.
