Welcome to our Blog!

My 10 year old daughter & I created LadyBug Restaurant Reviews to write about the restaurants we eat at from a parent/child perspective. Our ratings are for food, service, presentation, friendly waitstaff and overall experience. We rate on a 1 - 5 ladybug scale, with 5 ladybugs being the highest score. We hope you enjoy and please feel free to comment and give suggestions!

Goldilocks!

Sophia says: Today for lunch we went to Goldilocks. They serve Filipino food. It is right next to the Pet Club where we were getting things for our new hamster. When you walk in, you see big cakes on display. You order at the counter and they were out of a lot of things. We finally settled on glass noodles and chicken rice soup. The noodles were pretty good but the soup was really salty.  The restaurant had a lot of crumbs on the floor. They were mostly out of everything for dessert also so we ordered 2 spongecakes from the bakery.  The spongecakes were just okay. I might go back to get a brownie but probably not for lunch.

Josh says:  Hi Readers! Today we went to Goldilocks the restaurant for lunch. We waited a long time just to order because they were busy. We had noodles and soup and it was not my favorite food. They were out a lot of food and we did not know what to order. I liked looking at all the cakes they had. P.S. Here is a picture of Chunk, our hamster. She is really cute!

Jodie says:  Goldilocks has really amazing cakes on display and that was fun to see. As far as our lunch went, they were pretty busy and as the kids mentioned, out of most everything. They serve Filipino food and I did not know what to order. There was a nice couple next to me in line and they helped explain what everything was.  I would probably not come back for lunch but I would come back if I ever wanted one of their beautifully decorated specialty cakes.

Chef Liu!

Sophia says:  Hi Readers, sorry it's been so long since our last review but our Auntie Jill is visiting from Australia! Anyway, today we went to Chef Liu for lunch with my aunt and cousin. It was really fun. When we got there we sat down at a big table and looked at the lunch specials. We all ordered something different so everyone could share. We ordered the Mandarin deluxe chow mein, Chinese chicken salad, walnut prawns, and Tan Tan noodles.  They were all really good but the Tan Tan noodles had chili peppers and they had a kick to it. Our lunch special also came with hot and sour soup and rice. The service was okay, they were really busy because the restaurant got really full. When we were done, our waiter brought us fortune cookies with our check. And also, they have a vending machine and my aunt gave us each a quarter and we got some candy. And at the very end, we got a hamster!  It was a very great day!

Josh says: Hi Readers! Today we had a special lunch because we went with my auntie and my cousin!  When we got there our waiter led us right to our table. We got a menu and we all ordered something different. I tried everything but I liked the walnut prawns the best. I did not like the hot and sour soup because it was too sour and kind of spicy. And the rice was good. When we were done, they gave us each a fortune cookie and I forgot what my fortune was but I think it was a good one. And then the most exciting part of the day was we got a hamster and we named her Chunk! She is adorable and we love her. We will put up of a picture of her soon, but right now she is sleeping.

Jodie says: Today we had a wonderful lunch with Jill & Kaelyn at Chef Liu. We always see their  lunch special sign outside and it looked so good we decided to eat there. It was starting to get busy when we got there and by the time we left, every table was filled. Our food came quickly, and everything was delicious. I especially liked the walnut prawns and the chicken salad.  It was a great afternoon and of course the most exciting part was afterward when the kids got a pet hamster.

Regal Bagel Cafe!

Sophia says: Today for lunch we went to Regal Bagel Cafe with our friends Katie and Aidan. We have seen this place before and today we decided to check it out. When we got there, we looked at the menu on the wall. I wanted to order a ham and cheese croissant but they ran out of croissants right before we got there. So instead I ordered a hot egg, bacon and cheese bagel.  You can choose what type of bagel you want and if you want it hot or cold. Katie and I also had a Snapple to drink.  There wasn't really anyone there so we had the place to ourselves. I really liked my bagel but it was big. When I finished my mom got everyone a chocolate chip cookie.  They were good and the chocolates were already melting because its such a hot day. I would definitely come back.

Josh says: Hi Readers, today I got to have lunch with my friends and my sister.  My friends names are Aidan and Katie. This was the first time they have ever done a review with us. We went to the Regal Bagel Cafe. And I saw a chocolate chip bagel and a cinnamon sugar bagel. And those were what I wanted but I couldn't have them because my mom said no. Oh well. But I had a grilled cheese bagel sandwhich instead just like my friend Aidan. And it was hot at first but then cooled down. After I was done, I got a big fresh chocolate chip cookie and then we left. I had a great time!

Katherine says: When I first walked in I thought it looked open. I looked at the menu and saw a tuna melt which I like, but I wanted a cold sandwich (they did have tuna salad). I instead got a roast beef and cheese on a sourdough bagel. It was too big for my mouth because it had lots of stuff in it, roast beef, cheese, onions, pickles, lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayo. I thought it was the best sandwich I ever had. I got a chocolate chip cookie and I liked it because the chocolate chips were melted. The cookie was soft.

Aidan says: I went right to the bagels and saw a chocolate chip bagel that I wanted. Then I saw a cinnamon bagel I wanted. But my mom said no. I got a grilled cheese bagel. They didn’t have normal bread grill cheese. My bagel tasted good and it was hot. I had a cookie that tasted good. I would go back.

Olympus Cafe & Bakery!

Sophia says:  Hi Readers! Tonight for an early dinner we went to Olympus Cafe & Bakery. Before that it was Neto Cafe & Bakery. When it opened it was a soft opening. (soft opening: a restaurant that's open but hasn't worked out all the "kinks" yet) When we got there, we ordered at the counter. I ordered penne pasta off the kids menu. After we ordered, the waiter gave us a number for us to put on our table so they would know where to find us. It was a nice day so we sat outside. The food took awhile to come but when it came it was good! I liked the way they made my pasta, very plain and with no sauce. We also ordered the Turkish delight dessert which was good.  I would love to come back!

Josh says: Hi Readers! Tonight we had dinner at the Olympus Cafe. We walked to the Cafe and ordered at the counter. I ordered chicken nuggets. They were good but they were so tiny and I was still hungry when I finished them.  I had a good time tonight with my family and I would come back.

Something happened after we left. We saw millions of ants all in a pile on the sidewalk. It was disgusting! I asked my mom to take a picture of it so we could show you.  Here it is! P.S. It looks like a pile of dirt but all of it is ants!

Jodie says:  We drove by the Olympus Cafe this morning and saw they had a 'grand opening' sign so we decided to come back tonight and check it out. They have a really big menu selection and a huge pastry selection too. I ordered the Athenian Panini and shared it with Paul. It had grilled eggplant and bell pepper and it was delicious! Their proportions are mixed, Sophia got a huge plate of pasta and Josh had a very small amount of chicken nuggets.  The Olympus has a very casual atmosphere and it's a nice place to relax and have a light meal - we ate everything! I would love to go back and try something else.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit!

Sophia says: Tonight we went to a new restaurant that just opened a few days ago called Dickey's Barbecue Pit. We came here today because we have been watching it get ready to open and we got a flyer that said on Sundays kids eat for free. When we got there, it was pretty busy. There was a long  line because you order in line and then at the end of the line you get your food.We waited in line and walked around the restaurant for about 20 minutes. We waited so long  because they were out of everything! When we finally got our food we sat down and ate. The food was pretty good but the service wasn't. After dinner we got a free ice cream. I would come back but in a few months.

570 North Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View 650-933-4939

Josh says: Tonight we went to Dickey's Barbecue Pit!  When we got there, we got right in line. And it was a long line! I ordered a kid's plate that was a pork sandwich. I was going to get a chicken sandwich but they were out of them. We sat in the back and there were a lot of tables. My dinner was delicious and I got lemonade to drink. You get to pour it yourself. I didn't really eat my green beans because I forgot to. After dinner, my dad made me and my sister little ice creams for free!  And that was the best part for me.

Paul says: The line was total chaos. The food was good but they were out of most everything. They have a nice room in the back but be prepared because if you eat there you will leave smelling like bbq smoke.

Jodie says:  Dickey's opened only 3 days ago and I don't think the staff was prepared for how popular it was going to be!  We got there at 5:30 and there was already a line that almost reached the door.  We waited about 25 minutes and when it was our turn to order they had run out of their bbq ribs, chicken and turkey.  They had ham, sausage and pulled pork left. Paul had the ham dinner and I had a baked potato. It's a little confusing to order because you order from a few different people and they were all really busy. We had fun making the ice cream cones and when we left there was another group of people waiting in line.
