Welcome to our Blog!

My 10 year old daughter & I created LadyBug Restaurant Reviews to write about the restaurants we eat at from a parent/child perspective. Our ratings are for food, service, presentation, friendly waitstaff and overall experience. We rate on a 1 - 5 ladybug scale, with 5 ladybugs being the highest score. We hope you enjoy and please feel free to comment and give suggestions!

Fiesta Del Mar!

Sophia says: Tonight we went to Fiesta Del Mar. It is a Mexican restaurant. We went with my grandma and my Auntie Jill. We didn't need to wait for a table. The chairs are all decorated and fancy and they had different designs on them. I ordered the kids meal which had red rice, black beans and a cheese & bean burrito. There were also other choices for the main part of the kid's meal.  I also drank pink lemonade. The service was pretty good and our waiter was very nice. The waiter kept on coming and checking on us which was nice also. For dessert, I had flan. It was so delicious and yummy! My grandmother took us here and it was a special treat! I would totally come back.

Josh says: Tonight my grandma invited us to a restaurant called Fiesta Del Mar. I had a quesadilla and rice and beans. It was really good and the chairs were really fancy. Our waiter was pretty fast and he came so quickly and he was always checking on us. And dessert was so so good, it was flan! It tasted like caramel and cinnamon. I loved it. I would definitely come back!

Jodie says: We had a great dinner at Fiesta Del Mar. My mom loves this place and has been here many times before. We came early and it was already getting crowded but they sat us right away.  I love the colorful decorations and the hand carved chairs.  Our waiter was fantastic, he came by all time and brought extra chips and water.  My sister and I split the Enjococado chicken burrito and it was very filling. I'm not the biggest fan of Mexican food but my everyone enjoyed it!

Bajis’ Down the Street Café!

Sophia says: Hi Readers! Today we are doing a special guest review. One of our readers went to a restaurant and took pictures of it and asked their kid's what they thought. They asked us if they could review it on our blog.  So we said yes! We hope you enjoy and special thanks to Jeff, Jen, Eric & Colin!

Eric says: We didn’t need to wait for a table. I ate chicken strips, French fries, and hot chocolate. They brought the food quickly. It was delicious. The waiter was awesome but I didn’t get a menu at first. The water was super cold and good. They also have shakes and smoothies and desserts, but we didn’t have any. I would go back!

Colin says: I ate hash browns and a cheeseburger. I could get breakfast or lunch. The hamburger was delicious. They had lots and lots of jellies on the table to play with. You have to go outside to go to the bathroom, but it was a nice bathroom. I love the restaurant.

Jen says: We went for brunch on Presidents’ Day. Lots of people there, but we didn’t have to wait. Looked like they had a lot of “regulars”. The servers were quick and kept coming back to check on us.  Lots of newspapers to read while we waited for our food. Big portions and my skillet and fresh-squeezed oj were very tasty.  The menu didn’t mention the jalapenos, though, ugh.

Jeff says: A classic diner, so nothing fancy. It was a lot bigger than I thought. Had a big menu, good quick service. Food was average (my ground beef omelet could have used more beef). But the sourdough toast and red potatoes were awesome. Kid-friendly place, but I’d love to go back without the kids.

Country Gourmet!

Sophia says: Tonight we went to Country Gourmet. We've been wanting to go there for a couple of years. When we got to the restaurant, there were a few people there. It was a cute place. We ordered at the counter. I ordered a mini cheese pizza that tasted cheesy and delicious. The service was pretty fast. I also drank orange juice which was good as well. If you were vegetarian, you could go here. They have vegetarian choices. I would come back, because it has very good food and service.

Josh says:  Tonight we went to Country Gourmet. When we walked in, we were waiting to tell them what we want to eat. I ordered a cheese quesadilla and orange juice. There was a table with bread and butter with little plates. I got my own bread and brought it to the table. That was fun! My dinner was delicious because I like cheese and they put a lot in. And I got my own water. It was a fun place and I would  like to come back soon.

Jodie says: The Country Gourmet has been around for a long time and I have always wanted to go there. We went very early in the evening and there were already a few people there.  First you order and pay at the counter and then your meal is brought to you. You can help yourself to bread and beverages and they also had a self serve coffee station. I ordered the grilled veggies and rice and I was surprised at how big the portion was. It was definitely a full meal in itself.  I found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly and the hostess checked on us at least 3 times to see if we needed anything and seemed to know a lot of the customers.  We had a great time and when we left they had a line of people waiting to get in!

Maru Ichi!

Sophia says: Tonight we went to Maru Ichi! It is a noodle house. When we got there, we waited a few minutes before a waitress came to show us our table. We had to wait awhile for our waitress to come back so we could order our food. We ordered the kids meal, and that was noodles, and california rolls.  The noodles were in a soup and had a weird egg inside. The noodles were good. We went here last year and they had ice cream but this time when we asked for ice cream our waitress said they don't have it anymore. Our service was okay.  I would come back but I would wait a long time.

Josh says: Tonight I went to a restaurant called Maru Ichi. It had noodles. The service was kind of slow. I waited for a long time for my food that I ordered. I had noodles and sushi. And they gave me a cute monkey bowl. I did not like the egg. The egg was in my soup. I tried it and I did not like it. And the rest of my food was good. I wanted ice cream but they didn't have any. I was sad. I would come back soon.

Jodie says: We went to Maru Ichi once 2 years ago and the kids really liked it and have been asking to go back. There were a few people there and everyone else seemed really happy with their food.  The service was very slow and they no longer serve ice cream.  But they are very reasonably priced which is good because they are also "cash only".
